Was working on an art challenge from Digital Art Live Studio dot com. The challenge was mazes. I decided that FlowScape would be a great way to do a 3D maze. I decided that instead of a traditional maze that has lots of dead-ends and nothing but walls, I'd do a town with a path from one gate to another, but the path would pass every building.

I started with the terrain, and added the outside walls and gates. Then I painted the road way surface to make a path that wound around inside the walls. Once I had that in place, I (still viewing from above) started placing the main buildings. Shrinking them as needed to fit inside the open "lots" along the path. I placed a lantern at each of the gates to signal beginning and end. Then I started Decorating! I went to first person view, and started walking the path. When I came to a place that was "boring" or that had a view to another part of the path I placed something to block it. Sometimes creatures like Tree Ents, skeleton warriors, unicorns, lions, ogres and so on. And sometimes smaller buildings, like a tiny Japanese style house, bridge, lanterns and tree, or a water wheel mill in a puddle. I then filled in with flowers and trees, rocks, fences and so on. I finished with animated fireflies, birds and floating lanterns.

I got lost in my maze several times, as I would get turned around while placing items. But, in first person view, while the maze isn't complicated, you just follow the path, there is lots to see. And I'm sure I could add more, putting furniture, dishes and so on in the house windows and things like that.

I wanted to record a walk through, but, I'm not very good at walking! So, it may get added at a later date if I figure out how to do it without making everyone dizzy and running through walls!
